The St Elphege's String Group took part in the Coulsdon and Purley Music Festival on Friday 7th March. It was their first public performance and they excelled themselves. The adjudicator said that he could not think of anything negative to say about them and awarded the group 100%-Exceptional.
As a result, the Section Secretary has created a new award-she said, 'In view of the extraordinary achievement of your string group I have initiated a new award, for which your players will be the first recipients. It’s to be called the ‘Stellar Achievement Award’ for the performer/performers who achieve(s) the highest mark overall in the wind, brass, percussion and ensembles category.'
We are all incredibly proud of all of the children-they did themselves and the school proud.
